Anglepoise have a family history spanning 151 years and counting.
There have been
a few changes on the way and a few additions, but are proud to be in the
6th generation and have always made the anglepoise lamp since the
1930's. A small family business that was made famous for the
creation of the anglepoise lamp in 1932. Staff have developed a kit to
enable people to safely rewire clapped-out old lamps that have stopped
working - recently a 70-year-old anglepoise lamp was re-wired back to
its original working order by David Carwardine, the son of the original
creator. The company recently designed new
products with industrial designer Kenneth Grange, famous for the new
London taxi, Intercity 125 train, and the Kodak instamatic camera. The
business set up base in Waterlooville two years ago having been based
in Redditch for 149 years.
