Yorke Design was founded by Richard Yorke after developing the hanging flower light shade. Looks, durability, ecological and ethical production issues, and product safety are of paramount concern to Richard, and finding companies or materials that matched these production requirements took time. Richard has one foot in art and the other in design. Aside from day-to-day graphic design for advertising, print and products, he's spent many years making and selling beautifully balanced screen prints and paintings. Some of the concepts developed in art will filter back to Yorke Design as stylish, quirky or quality products in the future.
